Do you know that "robot nurses" used in hospitals are given human like form? It's definitely not the most efficient design. Then why would engineers take all the effort to make a robot look like a human?

Because robots appear more trustworthy and warm when they are given human-like traits. This is where the principle of Personification is at play. And Personification is one of the oldest tools in a marketer's toolkit.
